Railway Drawbridge - Howley

Previous | Photo Index| Next

This railway drawbrige is in Howley, where Grand Lake enters into the river towards Deer Lake. Tugs would have been used on the lake to transport log booms down stream to the mill at Corner Brook. The railway is long gone, but the bridge is still used as part of the Trailway across the province. The tugs are gone too. Now the pulp wood is transported by logging trucks.
